Description

When you say Zádiel, every tourist will imagine the beautiful Zádielská Valley, which reaches a depth of up to 300 m, a length of 3 km, and ranks among the most massive and largest canyons in Slovakia. In addition to hiking, you can enjoy a view of it from above, just if you go to the lookout, which bears the characteristic name of Na skale (On the rock).

The lookout is formed by massive rocky cliffs and lookout plateau which is almost terraced mountain meadow on some places. The rock walls fall perpendicularly to the Zádielská Valley, creating a breathtaking, awesome panorama that you can't easily find anywhere else.

You can enjoy stunning views of the Zádielská Valley, the rock tower of Cukrová homoľa and the picturesque village of Zádiel.

The nature trail Horné lúky or Zádielska Gorge passes through the site. However, there are multiple routes, so you can choose any of them. The good starting points for the lookout are village of Turňa nad Bodvou along the blue trail, from the village of Háj along the green trail to the guidepost Okrúhly laz - Zádielské hradisko and from there on the blue trail or the above mentioned nature trails from villages of Zádiel and Hačava.

Whatever route you choose, you can count on unpretentious and relatively short hiking, so we highly recommend it for families with children or beginners.
