Description
The dominant feature of the village of Vígľaš is the majestic cheateau situated on a small flat outcropping of the Javorie Hill. Originally, it was a Gothic castle, which was rebuilt into a hunting castle in the 14th century and then a castle mansion for several centuries.
The chateau is registered in the list of National Cultural Monuments and is a truly Slovak rarity. Vígľaš Cheataeu has undergone extensive reconstruction and today, it is located in the Congress Hotel The Grand Vígľaš.
The charm of the historical premises of the chateau can also be seen by the public. Regular tours of the chateau take place from October to June. The length of the tour is about 40 minutes.
