The northeastern region of Slovakia is dotted with sacred monuments in the form of wooden churches. Also in the village of Ladomirová, there is a historical monument of the Greek Catholic wooden church of St. Michael Archangel coming from 1742.
The church was built without the use of a single nail and, with regard to architecture, it is the most valuable and representative church of the Eastern Rite in Slovakia. There is also a wooden bell tower from which three bells can be heard.
The interior of the church is as impressive as the exterior. There is a beautiful five-row Baroque iconostasis with pictures of many saints. The church area is surrounded by a wooden fence of a log structure with a shingle roof and also beautiful shrubs and greenery.
For its beauty and uniqueness, this church was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The temple is only open upon request, so it is necessary to contact the Greek Catholic parish office in Ladomirová in advance.
