If you want to get to know wooden churches and beautiful nature, your steps should lead to the nearby surroundings of Svidník. In the nearby village of Šemetkovce there is a historical monument of the Greek Catholic wooden church dedicated to St. Michael Archangel coming from 1752.

The church is dominated by three towers, the first of which is the first above the church hall, and is a kind of hallway where women, who had not allowed to enter, were once standing.

The interior of the church is as impressive as the exterior. There is a beautiful five-row Baroque iconostasis with pictures of many saints. However, as it goes with such rare monument, you can enjoy it only with your eyes. Making pohotos is strictly prohibited.

The church complex is surrounded by a wooden fence of a log structure with a shingle roof and also beautiful patulous ground wood.

For its beauty and uniqueness, this church was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The temple is only open upon request, so it is necessary to contact the Greek Catholic parish office in Ladomirová in advance.
