The inconspicuous village of Hrabová Roztoka abounds in a rare historical monument - the Greek Catholic wooden church of St. Basil the Great. The tiny wooden church dates back to 1750 and traditionally has a simple three-space log construction with a covered shingle roof with two turrets.
The wooden church is no longer used for worship purposes. The interior is decorated with a beautiful four-row iconostasis dating from 1794. The rest of the interior bears Baroque elements in addition to an interesting cabinet, which is made in Gothic style.
The Church of Saint Basil the Great underwent a reconstruction in 2016, but the original appearance of the temple, iconostasis and the prestige from the time of the foundation of the temple has been preserved. If you are interested in viewing the interior of the church, it is necessary to report in advance to the Greek Catholic parish office in Šmigovec.
