Near the town of Prešov, there are embossed remnants of the Zbojnícky Castle (ie Brigand Castle), also called Salt Castle, deep in the dense forests below the Kamenná massif. The castle was built on a rhyolite rock sometime in the 13th century.
Until now, only small remnants have been preserved, but this place will provide you with beautiful views not only of the picturesque village Ruská Nová Ves, which will stretch under you, but also the surrounding mountains.
Nature trail called "Waterway to Salt Lake" leads to the ruins. The trail begins in the village of Ruská Nová Ves and ends right on the castle rock. The footpath is undemanding, a comfortable step can be done in about 30 minutes.
