Description
Zemplínska šírava is a water work in eastern Slovakia in the Bodrog Basin. The water surface covers an area of 33 km², thus, it is the second largest dam in Slovakia.
Šírava, also called the East Slovakian Sea, is a great place to spend the summer holidays for families with children.
It serves for recreational purposes, sailing, flood protection, irrigation and as a source for industry.
In addition to swimming, you can also try a number of water sports. You can succumb to water bikes, jet ski, water skiing or windsurfing.
Cruise ships also operate regularly from the port. Last but not least, Zemplínska Šírava is also a great place for fishing.
Around it, there are up to 7 recreation centers - Biela Hora, Hôrka, Medvedia hora, Kaluža, Kamenec, Klokočov, Paľkov.
In many of them, there are also summer non-swimming pools. Each of the resorts offers comprehensive service, ranging from accommodation and catering to the cultural program.
