Description

The Aponnyi Library of Oponice is a divine paradise for all bookworms as well as history lovers. The library is the most beautiful interior library in Slovakia, which holds not only a book treasure, but also a strong story and pulsating energy.

The library was founded by Count Anton Juraj Aponnyi in 1774 in Vienna. The library originally had about 30,000 volumes. It currently contains 8,222 titles written in 12 languages, including rare works by authors such as Macchiavelli, Petrarca, G. Bruno, Galilei, Da Vinci, Schiller, Dumas, Balzac, Newton and Linnaeus.

The historical library of the Aponius family is administered by the Slovak National Library. The library is open to the public. However, it is only possible to consult and study historical books with the consent of the Slovak National Library.

„Lokalita je veľmi nešťastná. Prostredie kaštieľa je veľmi pekné, upravené. Toto miesto som navštívil kvôli Aponiovskej knižnici. Napriek tomu, že knižnica je vskutku impozantná, vstupné za prehliadku je neprimerane vysoké (6 EUR) a o osobe sprievodcu nemôžem povedať nič pozitívne. Kvôli situácii na ceste sme meškali 5 minút. Okrem nás dvoch tam bola jedna trojčlenná rodina. Speivodca bol veľmi netolerantný a netrpezlivý. Výklad má naučený od A po Z a okrem toho, čo som sa dočítal na stránke, som sa okrem 3 maličkostí nedozvedel nič nové. Na otázky návštevníkov odpovedal mimoriadne nevhodne. Vinou sprievodcu bol zážitok z knižnice veľmi nízky. Veľká škoda, keďže som mal od tohto miesta väčšie očakávania. “

„Dňa 4.júna 2021 členovia MO Matice slovenskej zo Slovenského Grobu navštívili v rámci svojho poznávacieho zájazdu nádherne zrenovovaný kaštieľ v Oponiciach. V prvom rade nás milo prekvapil precízne udržiavaný rozsiahly areál a potom prekrásny interiér s množstvom vzácnych kníh a pútavé rozprávanie sprievodcu. Ďakujeme za pekný kultúrny a oddychový zážitok.“

„V sobotu 4.júla sme boli na výlet v Oponiciach. Veľmi milo nás prekvapila pani v knižnici, ktorá nám dala veľmi zaujímavý a pútavý výklad o histórií kaštieľa, knižnice a živote majiteľov kaštieľa.Nádherná kultúrna pamiatka,veľmi málo známa a ponúkaná. Rodina Ďurišová a Stopperová.“
