The limestone - dolomite hill of Drieňok is situated in the southwestern part of Greater Fatra. It extends above the village of Blatnica and offers not only excellent tourism in every season, but also a wide range of views.
The Drieňov is not one of the most visited hills, so you will be able to enjoy the ascent here almost privately. The hike is not very strenuous, but steep climb through the Rakytov Valley and final steps to the top of Drieňok will surely get you sweaty.
The top part of the Drieňok is grassy, but some limestone-dolomite rocks can be found here and there. The peak provides an almost circular view, especially to the southern part of the Turčianska Basin, the town of Turčianske Teplice and the western part of the Greater Fatra National Park.
A blue-marked hiking trail leads to Drieňok too. The starting point can be several surrounding villages such as Rakša, Mošovce, Čremošné, or Blatnica, from where it is about 6-7 km away. There are also marked cycling trials which can make your trip much easier.
