The village of Čičmany is situated in the Strážovské Hills and is characterized by its well-preserved folk architecture with typical log houses and two-storey houses. The houses are decorated with ornamental white decorations and typical shingle roofs.
Two of these wooden houses - Raden's house and House no. 4 - are administered by the Považské Museum. There is a museum exposition, which presents the life of our ancestors, who had its unique specifics in Čičmany nonrecurrent anywhere in the world.
The exposition at Raden's House presents all stages of life, customs, work activities, occupations, livelihoods, Čičmany architecture, as well as clothing and textiles.
Permanent exhibition "Housing of partners" in the House no. 4 captures the living of companions, which was typical for Čičmany until the beginning of the 20th century. The modern exposure is in the form of a diorama, i. e. when a visitors enter an object they have a feeling as if life has just stopped there.
