The Museum of the Police of the Slovak Republic, as a specialized museum type of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, focuses on documenting the creation, development and activities of security and police authorities in Slovakia. The Police Museum of the Slovak Republic is the only one in Slovakia and has prepared a rich and varied permanent exhibition, which emphasizes the necessity of the existence of police authorities.
The permanent exhibition of the museum is divided into three basic parts:
History, origin and development of security forces in Slovakia until 1989
Establishment and current activities of the Slovak Police Force
Thematic part - devoted to criminology, traffic police, Interpol and international cooperation
The crime scene is staged in the final part of the museum. The most precious objects of the museum include historical documents related to the activities of police and mercenaries from the Austro-Hungarian monarchy or original historical uniforms from 1918-1939. The museum also has a collection of weapons and current uniforms of foreign police forces.
