Description
Liptovská Mara is a waterwork near Liptovský Mikuláš. It was completed in 1975 and 13 municipalities were flooded in its construction. According to one of them, the dam is called.
Liptovská Mara is considered by its volume to be the largest water reservoir in Slovakia and therefore, it is also rightly called the Liptov Sea. It is also known for its clean water.
The only recreation center is located near Liptovský Trnovec, where there is a beach on its shore and also a popular campsite equipped with a children's playground.
Liptovska Mara is a well-known fishing location, and you can also enjoy water sports here in the summer, such as boating, water cycling, surfing and other more extreme water sports.
Last but not least, the water reservoir is also a popular place for summer swimming under the open sky, in the arms of beautiful virgin nature.
Pleasant diversion of recreational stay during hot summer days is also the possibility of sightseeing boat trip.
