The highest peak of the Kysucké Beskids, Veľká Rača, offers a wide range of opportunities to savour and fully enjoy your free time in a beautiful mountain environment in every season. This beautiful and majestic hill rises above the village of Oščadnica and for many is certainly linked especially with the ski resort of [Snowparadise Veľká Rača](https://www.kamnavylet.sk/en/attraction/winter-snow-paradise-velka-raca), that extends on its northern slopes.
However, this mountain offers much more than just winter sports. Outside the winter season, you can enjoy great hiking here. Veľká Rača Hill is easiest accessible from the village of Oščadnica from the locality of Dedovka. From there, you can climb to the summit in about 4 hours at a comfortable and undemanding pace. However, you can shorten the climb thanks to the cable car that will take you to the top station of Dedovky. From there, it is only 1.5 to 2 hours at an undemanding pace.
On the top, there is a viewing platform with fitted tourist map and paneles with panoramic view. The most beautiful views are on the ridge of the Western Tatras, the ridge of Little Fatra, Babia Hora and Pilsko. On the Polish side, you will find a mountain cottage where you can refresh yourself, relax or even spend the night.
Other alternative routes for climbing are for example those that lead from the villages of Stará Bystrica, Nová Bystrica or Zborov nad Bystricou. Whatever place you choose to get to the top of Veľká Rača, you can certainly do it with children.
