Lovers of canyons, gorges, wild rivers flowing between narrow rock walls, or romantic cave lakes, as well as beautiful meadows and magnificent views, should visit the site called the Jarabinský Breakthrough.
The Jarabinský Breakthrough is a protected natural creation that covers an area of 5.5 hectares in the eastern part of Pieniny, north of Jarabina. It is a relatively short canyon-like valley, which was modeled by the Malý Lipník creek that cut into the surrounding limestone walls.
This little creek has a great deal of power, and with the help of time it has swept out 5 deep circular mines that are clamped between the rocks and created a charming set of tides, waterfalls and "giant pots". It creates the most beautiful scenery at the bottom of the breakthrough.
The Jarabinský Breakthrough offers simple tourism suitable for smaller children. The walk is really nice, very relaxing and quite short.
You can start your hike to Jarabinský Breakthrough in the village of Jarabina, where you can park in the small car park next to the local church. From there, follow the blue sign that will take you to this small piece of paradise after about 3 km.
