If you want to get to know the beauty, but also the demanding life of our ancestors living in the village, visit Stará Ľubovňa Castle. Right there, you can find Ethnographic exposition in nature under Stará Ľubovňa Castle.
The open-air museum presents a set of traditional residential and farm buildings from the surrounding villages. Like the castle itself, it is also run by the Museum of Stará Ľubovňa.
Wonderful nature surroundings will enchant visitors of all ages. In addition to traditional buildings, you can find here a period blacksmith's house, a gamekeeper's lodge, a school, a water mill or a shepherd's house from Litmanová.
One of the most valuable exhibits of the open-air museum is a wooden Greek-Catholic church from Matysová built in 1833. The church was originally built without the use of nails. During important religious festivals, liturgies and devotions are held in the old Slavonic language.
The museum is located on Zámocká Street. There is also a car park next to the castle, which is just a 5-minute walk to the museum. We recommend combining the open-air museum visit with a visit to Ľubovňa Castle.
