Chalet of Štrba is a unique ethnographic museum in the village of Štrba, which offers a view of the authentic environment of the foothill village with the original, preserved type of dwelling - wooden houses, and at the same time it is a perfect example of the way of life, activities and clothing.
Chalet of Štrba comes from the end of the 19th century. The cabin was gradually restored and reconstructed to its present form. Today the cottage is declared a protected cultural monument, which has been open to the public since 2002.
The chalet is equipped with original furniture, clothes, kitchen utensils and linen processing tools, which are located in the back room. The front room once served as a dining room, bedroom and living room at the same time. Entrance area, the so-called “pitvor”, served as both a kitchen and a dining room where it was cooked in an open fireplace.
