One of the most important Renaissance monuments not only in Slovakia, but also in the whole of Central Europe is the Wedding Palace, which is part of the chateau complex in Bytča. It is situated in the center of the village. It was built by palatine Juraj Thurzo and was intended primarily for the weddings of his daughters.

The landmark of the chateau complex is the Renaissance Bytča Chateau, which was built on the site of a water castle. The castle was built by František Thurzo, father of Juraj Thurzo. Today, there are exhibitions in the chateau and there is also the State Regional Archive.
