Black stone is certainly known to every tourist, it is one of the most visited mountains of the Greater Fatra. It is characterized by its sharp and rocky profile, which contrasts with the surrounding grassy uplands. This makes it unmistakable.
Black Stone is an important mountain flora site with a large number of rare, relict and endangered taxons. From the Čierny kameň (Black Stone) to the Hrubý grúň (Broad Hillsides), a primeval vegetation has been preserved on almost 67 ha. Part of the site has therefore been territorially protected since 1964.
From under the peak, you will get a great view of the southern slopes - the rocks the Black Stone. The cliffs, which are often compared to the Italian Dolomites, look really impressive, and the dark scrub cover at the top gives the peak a strict look.
The peak itself is not accessible via the officially marked trail. However, there is an educational trail around the summit with many information boards. The Black stone is accessible by several paths. For example, the village of Liptovské Revúce can be a starting point, but a more familiar route leads from Vyšné Revúce.
