If there is a passion for modern art in you, your steps should lead to the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum. Located 20 km south of Bratislava, it is one of the most romantic museums of modern art in Europe.
The museum will lure you from a distance, thanks to its unique architecture. The museum building is built in the shape of a lenticular boat (Roman galley), which is supported by wooden oars. The museum's interior representations are also not lagging behind.
Clean and modern interior lines are perfect for honouring outstanding artworks. Since its founding, the museum has held dozens of exhibitions by the most prestigious personalities of the Slovak, European and world art scene. Among the many domestic and foreign visitors, there were also many royal visits.
If you come here, be sure to stop by the adjacent sculpture park where you can see the breathtaking works of many sculptors. An extraordinary walk is the walkway on the museum trafficable roof, where the view of Bratislava, the Little Carpathians and the majestic Danube flow is always an unforgettable experience at sunset.
