The Sentinel Adventure Center was created by the reconstruction of the buildings of Mining Museum in Rožňava. Its premises include Exposition of mining and metallurgy of Gemer, exposition of times of steam in the Mining Museum, mining workshops and exposition of nature of the Slovak Karst. In the courtyard of the complex, there are also mining mechanisms and a mobile mining railway.
In the Gemer mining and metallurgy exposition you will learn about history of Gemer mining and metallurgy from prehistoric times to the present. There are also examples of primary mining tools, means of transport, mining measuring and lighting equipment.
The Mining Workplaces exhibition shows underground mining works with the benks of bottoms of workplaces in the quarrying of iron ores and magnesite. In the area of the adventure center there are also unique pieces - the third oldest steam cylinder in the world and the only Škoda Sentinel steam truck in Slovakia.
On the other hand, the exposition of the nature of the Slovak Karst and its surrounding areas presents the natural features and beauty of this area.
