Description
The beauty of the lower Liptov is undeniable. This place is a popular tourist destination, thanks to a number of mineral springs that have created a natural travertine reservation.
Sliač travertines are formed by a massive pile of white travertines with still active sprays of gas - carbon dioxide and flowing mineral springs and craters.
Mineral water with a distinctive smell, which originally created the whole formation, springs up with modified springs at the foot of the travertine pile. It has a constant temperature of about 16 ° C and therefore does not freeze during winter. If you want to taste this spring water, we recommend taking the bottles with you.
The protected area includes a flat marsh with typical boggy plants and animals spreading under the spring. The place is really beautiful for walking and relaxing in nature.
There is a marked hiking trail and a cycling trail from Vyšný Sliač leading around Sliač travertines. They are located about 400 m from the village.
