Marianka is the oldest pilgrimage site in Slovakia. In the local beech tree, there is a beautiful pilgrimage area called the Holy Valley. There is an extremely peaceful atmosphere, making it a popular place not only for believers.
The Calvary with the Baroque Chapels of the Six Joys of Our Lady, the Lourdes Cave of the Virgin Mary with a number of messages carved into stone plates, as well as a holy fountain at the Chapel of the Holy Well, which has allegedly healing powers, are part of the Holy Valley area.
Former monastery of Pauline Fathers (mansion), which is located in the village, today serves as a pilgrimage and exerciation house. The dominant feature of the village as a whole pilgrimage site is the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, which retained its original Gothic construction. The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was promoted to a minor basilica on 31 July 2011 by decree of Pope Benedict XVI.
