Description
The charming nature reserve of Malé Zajfy is part of the Slovak Paradise National Park. Unlike other reservations in the Slovak Paradise, the reservation of Small Zajfy is characterized by a relief of a non-karst character and a valley floodplain, which is drained by a small stream.
The area of the reserve is a suitable habitat of several species of birds, amphibians and is also interesting by well-preserved boggy communities with a number of rare and protected species of animals and plants. Malé Zajfy reservation offers pleasant hiking, mostly on a forest path lined with high and slender coniferous trees.
The nature reserve is located in the cadastral area of Stratená, in the Rožňava district. The starting point of the tours is mostly Stratenská sawmill, the settlement of Dedinky or the settlement of Biele Vody. The green marked Slovak Paradise - South trail leads through the reservation. The educational trail is circular and starts in the village of Dedinky. It is 11 km long and takes about 3.5 hours to pass.
