The landscape scenery of the town of Handlová is dominated by the distinctive, partly rocky peak of Malý Grič, which is part of the Vtáčnik mountain range. As well as other hills in this mountain range, the climb to Malý Grič can be quite difficult.
This mountain of volcanic origin offers beautiful nature everywhere and gorgeous views of the wide surroundings as well as the neighbouring hill Veľký Grič. The peak of Malý Grič is formed by impressive cliffs with steep slopes.
A marked hiking trail leads to Malý Grič. You can choose your starting point eg. Veľka Lehotka (about 5.5 km), Handlova (about 4.5 km), Hradec or Cígeľ. You can also choose an interesting round trip from Handlová with a total length of about 17 km, first through the Veľký Grič, then through Malý Grič and finally down the hill to the starting point.
