You can experience the fascinating space theatre in Maximilian Hell's Observatory and Planetarium in Žiar nad Hronom. The observatory is mainly focused on the Central Pohronie region.

The dominant feature of the regional observatory is the Planetarium called "Starry Hall" with a capacity of 56 seats and a spherical projection area of 10 meters in diameter. The hall is fully digitalized and is used not only as an experiential form of popularization of astronomy, but also as an educational tool for teaching students

The observatory offers a regular program for the general public, which is shown on the premises of the observatory and the planetarium at 6 pm on Fridays. The regular program consists of two parts. In the first one, the visitor watches the film at the planetarium, which is accompanied by a brief lecture by a professional commentary

The second part depends on the weather. If it is favourable, you will experience observation of the sky by astronomical technique in the observatory, accompanied by a specialist.

In addition to the purely astronomical composition of the programs, the regional observatory also offers music, travel and relaxation programs, which can be found on the observatory's website.
