Do you know where you can find one of the wildest Slovak valleys? You can find it in the Slovak Paradise, specifically on the eastern edges of the Glac Plain. This is the site of the Sokolia dolina (Falcon Valley).
Sokolia Valley is a shade at the foot of Veľké Poľana about 2 km long. The nature has gone wild, and thanks to this Sokolia dolina has become the steepest gulley in the Slovak Paradise. When you come here, get ready for the deep, narrow rock valleys of the local streams with numerous cascades.
Challenging tourists will enjoy the varied terrain in addition to the unmistakable natural phenomena. The passage through the gulley is ensured by ladders, steps, chains or bridges, and it requires increased caution from even the most able-bodied tourist. The route is one way only and the ascent is possible only upstream.
The basic route that leads through the valley is demanding, but in terms of natural beauty, even dreamy. It is this locality where the highest waterfall of the Slovak Paradise is located, which is also the second largest in Slovakia. It is a Veil Waterfall reaching a height of 75 meters.
However, the veil waterfall, over which the most exposed part of the hiking trail leads, is not the only one in this gorge. There are three more waterfalls in the valley, i.e.:
The Sokolia dolina is part of the Kyseľ State Nature Reserve and it is only possible to cross it via the marked trail.
