Near the town of Nová Baňa, nature created a beautiful Starohutský Waterfall. Although it cannot be compared with waterfalls in the Tatra Mountains or in the Slovak Paradise, it is of great importance and charm for tourists.
The Starohutský waterfall was created by a tectonic drop of the creek and reaches a height of five meters. It is located on the Sklenný potok (Glassy stream) about 300 m north of the village of Stará Huta - the Nová Baňa district.
The biggest flow, and therefore the ideal time to visit it, is in the spring. Around the waterfall, there is an educational trail Vojšín, which leads through the mountains of Pohronský Inovec. The trail starts in the village of Stará Huta and ends in the village of Malá Lehota.
There is a smaller seating area and a large information board at the waterfall, which provides basic information about it. The route here is pleasant with a slight climb and only takes a few minutes.
The waterfall was declared a national natural monument in 1977, including the surrounding volcanic area of 4.24 hectares.
