If you ever walked along the main road between Žilina and Prievidza through Rajecká dolina, you certainly noticed an interesting natural creation that rises above the road from the forest. It is a system of dolomite rocks with the distinctive name - Sunny Rocks.
Sunny Rocks are part of the nature reserve with the same name and belong to the mountains of Súľov Hills. The terrain of this area is really diverse. You can admire sharp rock needles, dragon-tooth-like features, rocky windows, or rocky turrets, and a smaller cave.
Wild rocky character is soften by a Rajčianka Creek, which creates beautiful, small waterfalls on some parts. The** rich fauna and flora** with its many rare thermophilous species complete the scenery.
There is a six-kilometer-long trail with 16 panels leading around Sunny Rocks. An unpretentious route with an elevation of up to 300 meters can be completed in 3 - 4 hours. The educational trail is built between Rajecké Teplice and the village of Porúbka. There are several beautiful views of the surroundings from the sidewalk.
There is also a camping site near Sunny Rocks, which is made for families with children. Beautiful meadows bounded on one side by the Rajčianka River and on the other side by the sliding Sunny Rocks provide the right atmosphere for moments of relaxation and regeneration.
