Mountains attract tourists to impressive bird's-eye views, but have you ever thought about what the lowest altitude in Slovakia can offer you? This place is located in the cadastre of the border village of Klin nad Bodrogom.
The lowest point is marked by a granite pillar on which you can see a mark with an altitude of 94.3 m. From here, you can see the vast plain, which is bordered by the flooded Bodrog River on one side and the ruins of a 13th-century early Gothic church on the other.
The lowest situated place in Slovakia is easily accessible by foot as well as by bike. The route leads from Klin nad Bodrogom along a field path that leads alternately across a field, around a smaller lake and finally through a forest. The lowest point in Slovakia can also be reached from the wine village of Viničky.
