In our capital, there is a Renaissance building of Kamper's mansion on Žižkova Street, which is currently the seat of the Archaeological Museum - a specialized museum workplace with nationwide activity. The museum specializes mainly in presenting and publishing archaeological finds in Slovakia from prehistoric times to the late middle ages.
The Archaeological Museum has a rich collection of collections containing rare finds, mostly from its own archaeological research. The most precious of them are part of the exposition entitled “The Oldest History of Slovakia”, which is also accessible to visually impaired visitors through a tactile line with exhibits and a sound guide in Slovak, English, German and Hungarian languages.
The museum's rich exhibition activities are complemented by other forms of cultural activities, such as lectures and discussions on archaeological themes organized by the museum's specialists, video films, classes for all types of schools and expert commentary for the general public.
The Archaeological Museum is part of the Slovak National Museum in Bratislava.
