The former city of queens cordially invites everyone to the traditional Bátovsk fair on Saturday, August 5, 2023. A rich cultural program awaits you, great gastronomy - traditional dishes, artisans, attractions for children, folklore and accompanying events.

The large rectangular Bátov Square was the largest fairgroundin the foothills of the Štiavnické Hills already in the Middle Ages. Fairs were the most important economic stimulus for the development of the town after the decline of mining activity. There was an ancient right to hold a weekly market, where its inhabitants could sell their products as well as buy them.

As early asin the morning from 8 o'clock, the fair of folk crafts will start on the square. As part of the fair, there will also be a presentation and demonstrations of crafts and handicrafts. The organizers are pleased with the interest of sellers and craftsmen. This year, there are 61 registered so far.

**At 1 p.m., a guided tour of the village's attractions (mansion, churches, farmhouse, baroque bridge) will begin in front of the Municipal Office.

The official ceremonial opening of the Bátovské fair will be in the Gazdovské dvor at 3 p.m. The introduction will be performed by the local male singing group Bátovčan, which has already become known for its performances in the near and wider area. After him, the smallest folklorists from the Pečeničan Children's Folklore Ensemble will perform, in which children from ZŠ Bátovce also perform.

At 4:30 p.m. the Roma pop band Lomnické Čháve from Veľká Lomnica will perform,

At 5:30 p.m. will be followed by a performance of the well-known folklore group Urpínfrom Banská Bystrica, which has been preserving the folklore of Horehron and Podpolia for over 60 years.

The cultural program willpeak at 7 p.m. with the performance of the musical group Heľenine oči.

Traditional fair also includes traditional gastronomy. They will offer paránka, perky, goulash, cabbage, trdelniks, sausages or roast knees... In a unique cellar under Gazdovský dvor Muráni Winery from Čajkovo will continue to offer its wines and provide wine awareness.
