Lovers of history, enchanting architecture or beautiful halls with precious works of art should certainly not miss a visit to Chtelnica Mansion.
The Chtelnica mansion is a dominant feature and a pride of the village and also an unmistakable part of its panorama. It is located on the left side of the road from Chtelnica towards Trstín. It is inextricably linked with the history of the village and its origins date back to the 16th century. At that time, it belonged to the property of the Erdődy noble family.
It is interesting to note that this mansion also enchanted Maria Theresa or later Jozef Tiso, who were both its regular visitors.
In the reconstructed parts of the manor house, there are representative spaces of the regional museum and gallery. Expositions present life in this area in the past, various historical objects and tools.
Various exhibitions and cultural events are also organized in the renewed pavilion during the year. During the tour, visitors can also visit the cellar areas where large quantities of wine have been stored in the past.
The eastern pavilion of the manor house is dominated by the Chapel of the Crucifixion, where a rare altar painting was originally placed, which was made by Count John Erdödy in the 18th century. Above the chapel, there is an exhibition of liturgical garments and Christian books.
