An interesting building in the city of Košice is the building, which houses the museum - House of Crafts. It attracts people by its external architecture, which combines traditional and modern elements, but the real wealth is hidden in its interior. The House of Crafts was built as part of the investment project Island of Culture.
The building is built on the site of a former burgher house from the 19th century, which stood in the inner fortifications of the city. The House of Crafts is under the administration of the Eastern Slovak Museum and presents a unique medieval archaeological finds, which visitors can see thanks to the glass floor, as part of the permanent exhibition entitled Historical Crafts.
In addition to the unique opportunity for visitors to get to know the art of old blacksmiths, shoemakers, carpenters, weavers, tailors or potters, the interactive mining tower in the craft yard, which is most appreciated by children, is also attractive. The Craft House also regularly holds temporary exhibitions and events presenting historical crafts and their current traditions.
