The Muráň Plain is full of beauty, whether on the ground or underground. The central part of the national park is formed by a karst plain lined with steep, sloping bouldery hillsides. It is the place where there are some of the most enchanting creations that attract many tourists. One of them is the Rock Gate.
It is an interesting rock formation, which is available about 15 minutes from the plateau Nižná Kľaková. The rock portal was modeled in the steep limestone and dolomite cliffs by the influence of natural elements.
Above the Rock Gate, there is a view from which you can admire magnificent views of the limestone massifs of Greater and Little Stožka, the wooded massif of the hills of Fabova hoľa and Vysoký vrch. The location also offers other interesting natural creations waiting to be discovered.
The locality includes a yellow marked trail from the village of Muráň (approx. 10 km) leading through the Hrdzavá Valley. If you are looking for adventure, there is also the Nižná Kľaková tourist shelter and the official camping site where you can stay overnight.
