Description
One of the great attractions of Liptov nature in Žiarska Valley is definitely a beautiful Šarafiový Waterfall, which as a glittering white ribbon winds between the rocks of the southern slope of Príslop Hill. Šarafiový Waterfall is certainly well known to all tourists of Žiarska Valley, as it is visible when you follow the busy route to Žiarska Cottage.
Šarafiový Waterfall is of glacial origin. The entire waterfall is 20 meters high, but is divided into distinct cascades, while the highest of the cascade range is only about 3.5 meters. The glacier cascade is fed by the Šarafiový Creekat 1480 m asl.
The waterfall is easily accessible from Žiarska Cottage along the green trail in the direction of Jalovecké Saddle. You can get there in about 15 minutes. However, there are several routes from Žiarska Cottage. It is up to you whether you choose marked hiking trails leading from Žiarska Cottage to Plačlivé, Ostrý Roháč or other hills of this locality, or you can return to the valley as well.
