Description
Tourism in Orava and Liptov has its own special charm. One of the most beautiful and popular hills of the Western Tatras is the Sivý vrch (Gray Hill). The tour is not one of the most demanding, but it is definitely one of the most beautiful, thanks to the breathtaking views of Liptov and Orava.
The hill is typical for its rocky peak, which is well recognizable from either Orava or Liptov side. For experienced hikers, it will remind of Veľký Rozsutec or Veľký Choč. Majestic limestone cliffs are interwoven with beautiful flora.
Like other parts of the Tatras, the route to Sivý vrch is closed from 1.11. to 15.6. There are several marked hiking trails leading to Sivý vrch. A good starting point is Bobrovecká limestone pit (approx. 9km), Zuberec (approx. 5km), Huty (approx. 5km) or Kvačany.
