Unique National Nature Reserve of Devínska Kobyla is situated on the southwestern slopes of Devínska Kobyla. It is a place where two worlds meet - contemporary, represented by fauna and flora, and past, represented by fossil remains and archaeological finds.
Thanks to its favourable geographical location and stable climatic conditions, Devínska Kobyla has been inhabited 5000 years before our era. The well-known Amber Road led through this territory, and the Celts and Romans liked the site as well as they settled here.
Going to the Devínska Kobyla Hill will enchant you especially in the spring, when forests and forest steppes turn into a large botanical garden.
Lovers of beautiful views will also enjoy themselves here. At the top is built a lookout tower, which offers a enchanting view of Zobor, Vienna and even the Alps. From closer attractions you will see Devín castle ruins or Schloss Hof. The former military barracks are also located on the top.
There is no marked hiking trail leading to the top of Devinska Kobyla. Its slopes, including the nature reserve, are very well accessible by footpaths from Devín, Devínska Nová Ves or Dúbravka. It is also interesting to take a hike along the* Educational Trail of Devínska Kobyla E2*, which is accompanied by five information boards or a geological museum in the former quarry.
