Description
Everything that the landscape and surroundings offer, you can see very well from the lookout tower on the hill Špicák near Strečno. The lookout tower is entirely made of wood and is 8.2 m high. You will be enchanted by the impressive views of the Žilina Basin, the ridge of Little Fatra and Strážovské Mountains. With good visibility, you will enjoy a unique view of up to 4 castles in the area - Strečno Castle, Starý hrad (Old Castle), Budatín Castle and Lietava Castle.
The lookout is accessible on the yellow-marked trail from the parking lot below Strečno Castle or the village centre and the ascent takes approximately 40 minutes. The trail leads through the forest, is quite steep but it is nothing that could not be handled.
It is also suitable for families with children and includes an educational trail with information boards and benches where you can relax.
Lookout tower is open all year round.

„Nadherne vyhlady. Pokial nemate kondicku alebo vychytate horsie pocasie, odporucam ist po naucnom chodniku (zeleno-biele znacenie), ktory je "az" o 15min dlhsi ako zlta trasa.
Trasa zacina oproti Coop Jednota, tam je razscestnik, znacenie je velmi dobre celou cestou.
Cast cesty idete po luke, potom uz len cez les. Idete do kopca ale nie je to ziadny zabijacky strmak.“
