If you visit Terchová, do not miss Jánošík's holes, which will definitely impress you. Jánošík's holes consist of several gulleys, and the last ones made available are New Holes.
The New Hole Gulley is located in the Rozsutec National Nature Reserve. It leads from the Lower Holes upstream of the smaller tributary stream of the Dierový Creek. Walking through the gulley is easy and manageable even for children.
Ladders and footbridges are waiting for you in the New Holes, which are located mainly in their lower part. Some parts you need to pass are really very narrow. After this section, a sidewalk with rocky stairs awaits you, leading you to the Podžiar Shed, where you can choose whether you want to go through Upper Holes to Greater or Little Rozsutec.
The New Holes offer not only bizarre rock formations, but also four waterfalls. Their height is between 1 and 2 meters and is part of the natural monument of the Dierový Creek Waterfalls.
Rock formations with a specific climate are home to many interesting species of plants and animals. There are also a number of rare alpine species that are strictly protected.
You can enjoy the new holes in hot but also cold weather. However, after heavy rains and in winter, when bridges and ladders are frozen and slippery, the entire gulley may be inaccessible.
