


About 35 km from the city of Košice, there is a Ružín Dyke lying on the Hornád River - one of the longest and deepest dams in eastern Slovakia. Located in a mountainous valley, it has a narrow elongated shape with several arms. It was built in the 1960s.
It serves to produce electricity but also has an important sports and recreational function.
