You know the school in nature and certainly many of you have attended it. But have you ever attended a school in museum? You don't have to be a child to come here. Slovak Mining Museum in Banská Štiavnica carries out the project School in the Museum since 1998. Whether you are parents or grandparents, take your chits with you and enjoy a beautiful day together.

The individual activities of the project are intended for schools as well as for the public. Children, together with their parents, can produce jewelry, wicker baskets, scarves or other traditional items in creative workshops to recognize the abilities of our ancestors.

In addition to creative workshops, the project's activities include courses, presentations and field walks. They promote aesthetic feel, manual skills, creativity and inspire the efficient use of natural waste material.

The project supports a change in the perception of the traditional museum and opens the door for new interactive collaboration between the public and the museum. The project is being implemented in individual expositions of the Slovak Mining Museum.

The School in the Museum project also includes an Interactive Museum, which, through innovative elements, complements the curriculum of primary and secondary school pupils in Natural Sciences, Natural History, Geography, Chemistry or Physics.

Schools and school groups can also visit Geo research room and play scientists who explore minerals, but also the clever jewelers who can make their own bracelets from these minerals.
