Turzovské Lake

Turzovské Lake is incorporated into a beautiful foothill environment, with which creates a perfect harmonic interplay. It is located just outside the town of Gelnica and leads to it several hiking trails of varying difficulty and length. For example, a blue-marked path from Gelnica to Plejsy leads through its surroundings.

Turzovské Lake is not only a perfect location for hiking, but also a pleasant refreshment during the summer. The lake has crystal clear water and reaches up to 6.7 meters at the deepest point. However, swimming in the lake is at your own risk.

In the past, Turzovské Lake was mainly used as a health climatic spa, which was mainly visited by people with respiratory and nervous diseases. The water from the lake was boiled with needles, creating a bath with inhalation of medicinal resins.

There was also a spa house right by the lake. However, it is no longer used as a treatment facility, but provides accommodation and catering services.
