Kremnica is a city with a rich mining history. If you want to get to know it and discover the hidden treasures of this “golden city”, you have to go to the place where it all began - the underground of Kremnica. The Andrej gallery, which is now a mining museum, is located just a few minutes from the city center.
The Andrej gallery is accessible at a length of 660 m and visitors can learn more about the heavy work of miners in an authentic underground environment. The activity of miners from the 17th, 18th and 20th centuries is presented here. There are installed various machines, equipment, workplace equipment and method of securing mining works.
The tour of the gallery, along with an accompanying word offering engaging historical facts, legends, as well as stories from the life of miners, lasts an hour. Around the area of the Andrej Gallery there is a trail "In the footsteps of mining activities" and a cycling route leading to the village of Kremnické Bane. The gallery is open all year round and it is suitable for both adult and child visitors.
