Not far from Smolenice, in the Hlbočianska Valley, natural elements created the Hlbočiansky waterfall. It is the only waterfall in the Little Carpathians that you can visit and admire. It is often called "occasional" because at times it is beautiful and rich, but sometimes narrow and almost without water.
The waterfall feeds the Hlbočianský spring and is naturally the richest especially in the spring and in the period after heavy rains. The water falls from a height of 9 meters and it disappears underground after the impact and emerges in close proximity to Smolenice, thanks to which the well-knowncave of Driny could have originated.
The waterfall is part of the Smolenice Karst and the shortest way to it leads from the village of Smolenice along the blue tourist mark. The journey takes about 30 minutes, is not difficult and suitable for both large and small hikers. Hlbočiansky waterfall is also one of the stops of the Nature trail of Smolenice Karst.
