Slavkovský štít is a Tatra classic. It rises to the majestic heights in the main ridge of the High Tatras. It is one of the highest peaks in this mountain range, and apparently therefore attracts a large number of tourists yearning to conquer it.
The wide, vast peak offers incredibly beautiful views of all the cardinal points. From the heights, you will be able to admire the rocky peaks of Slavkovská Crotch towards the west up to the Východná Vysoká Peak, or observe four peaks of Bradavica Hill. There is also a dramatic view downwards to the Little Cold Valley.
The slopes of the Slavkovský Peak are home to chamois and other alpine animals that you can see at the ascent. Slavkovský Peak can be climbed without a mountain guide, but it is necessary to prepare for a physically demanding climb that will take you 5 hours.
The popular ascent route starts in Starý Smokovec along a blue mark (about 7 km) around Five Springs. The starting point can also be the tourist resort of Hrebienok (approx. 7 km), which is located on its slope and is connected by a cable car with Starý Smokovec.
