Lúčanská Malá Fatra has excellent mountain conditions, which enable tourists to enjoy mountain hiking in every season. The highest peak of this part of Little Fatra, Veľká Lúka (Large Meadow), is perfect proof of it. Veľká Lúka is a well-accessible mountain that offers more or less undemanding tourism, and thanks to that, it is frequently visited by tourists.
This hill is adjacent to the Krížava hill in the north, the Vidlica hill in the south. There is also the Ski resort Winter Park Martinky eastwards from Veľká Lúka. From the tops of Veľká Lúka, you can enjoy nice views of the surrounding area. Well visible are the Strážovské Hills, Greater Fatra, Low Tatras and West Tatras and Chočské Mountains.
This steep and meandering hill in the center of Lúčanská Malá is a crossroads of several hiking trails and therefore you can get here from all sides. It is up to you whether you choose a lighter or harder route. Either way, beautiful nature awaits you.
The easiest route leads from the cottage Martinské hole (about 3 km) along a paved road. The route from Minčol Hill is also very popular. The starting point for the route from the west can be villages of Kunerad or Turie. From the south, the route leads from Kľak Hill.
